Immigration

A) What we can learn from Sophia's story is that not all immigrants that arrive in Canada have a hard time getting involved with the community and have trouble learning french. As Sophia described though, the majority of immigrants think it's very hard getting settled in and going out in public but there is alot of agencies that have people willing to help immigrants get used to our lifestyle.

B) One way of helping immigrants is going out into an agency and offering your help in any way possible to make it easier for the immigrant. An other way would be to not laugh at immigrants if their having difficulties in class, assuming you have an immigrant in your class, because if you laugh at them their confidance will greatly decrease and they might give up that class. The actions we take don't have to be big, anything that can help an immigrant in some way is, I assume, greatly appreciated by them.

C) Being part of the community, we are indirectly responsible for the intergration of immigrants in our society because if we don't accept immigrants there is a small chance that they will get involved in our community. To answer the question, yes we can get involved in helping the immigrants but we can't help them as much as the professionals. I would expect the people to be friendly towards me if i would move to another country and also expect them to be helpful in any way possible.
